The factors of price change in PCB production
In the PCB industry, the price of each production is different, and there are many factors that affect it. So what are the factors that influence the price of PCB?
1. Material
Like other products, the prices of different products made from different materials are not the same as PCBs. Taking the ordinary double-sided board as an example, the board material generally has FR-4, CEM-3, etc., the board thickness ranges from 0.6mm to 3.0mm, and the copper thickness varies from 1Oz to 3Oz. The difference in the board material results in a huge price difference.
2. production process
Different production processes can cause different costs. Such as gold-plated plates and sprayed tin plates, the production of the shape of the milling (milling) plate and beer (red) plate, the use of silk screen lines and dry film lines will have different costs, resulting in a variety of prices.
3. difficulty
Even if the materials are the same and the process is the same, the difficulty of PCB production will also cause different costs. For example, if the line widths of the two types of circuit boards are different, one of more than 0.2 mm and one of less than 0.2 mm will also result in different production costs.
4. other factors
In addition to the above factors, there are other factors, such as customer requirements, manufacturers of process equipment, packaging methods, shipping methods, payment methods, regions,rates etc., will affect the final price.
Among the above factors, the material factor is the most important factor. In terms of sheet materials alone, the main factors affecting prices are as follows:
1. plate material
FR-4, CEM-3, which is a common double-sided and multi-layered sheet, the price is related to the thickness of the sheet and the thickness of the copper in the middle of the sheet. FR-I, CEM-1, is a single board material, and the price is much different than the multilayer board.
2. plate thickness
Common thicknesses are: 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0, 2.4, different thicknesses, and different prices.
3. copper platinum thickness
The thickness of copper and platinum is generally divided into 18um (0.5OZ), 35um (1 OZ) ,70um (2OZ), 105um (3OZ), and 140um (4OZ).
